Funeral Services for Rose D. Wagner, age 94, of Port Orange, FL who died Friday, November 13, 2009, will be held Wednesday, November 18th at 11am at Spruce Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Bernie Davis officiating. Her friends will gather to celebrate Rose's life on Tuesday, November 17th from 6-8pm in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. An Eastern Star service will be held during the visitation at 7pm. Rose was born to Samuel and Signe Cioffi in Manhattan, New York on December 6, 1914. She resided in New York until 1977, when she and her husband retired to this area from Peekskil, NY. Rose was a kind and gentle spirit, with a loving heart, a quick wit and energy beyond her years. She embraced many people, opening her home to all, and frequently holding Bible studies in her home. She was always there for so many with a helping hand and a shoulder to cry on. She was outgoing and had a real zest for life, loved shopping with her friends, dancing, and entertaining her friends hosting card parties. She had a love for the arts and theater. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Wagner, her brothers, Joe Cioffi and William Cioffi, and a special companion later in life, Al Hessler. She is survived by her niece, Patricia Joyce Stencil; and her husband, Vernon Stencil, of Baltimore, MD; her dear friends, Yvonne LaNasa and Jeanette Shaw; and many other friends and loved ones who will always cherish her memory. In lieu of flowers, Rose requested that memorial donations be made to the Spruce Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 1952 Taylor Road, Port Orange, FL, 32128.
