Ronald W Herrlich passed away on December 19th, with family members praying by his side. Ron died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on December 8th, 2009. Ron was born in Cleveland Ohio and grew up in the Fairview Park area. He joined the US Army in 1966, was stationed at Fort Knox Kentucky for two years and is a current member of The American Legion. He would often make vehicle repairs at no cost, incurring the expense out of his own pocket. He was a kind and generous man, who loved his family and friends. He lived an active lifestyle and enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, bowling, walking the Granada Bridge and Central Park, dining on wings and beer and breakfast every weekend. Ron is predeceased by his father, Walter Herrlich (Mary) and mother Betty Thornsberry. Ron leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughters Kim Jarvis, Ohio, Cheri Herrlich Greene (Jim) Ormond and Stacey Herrlich (Donald Fornace) Ormond. Brothers Bob Herrlich (Tina) Ohio, Rick Herrlich (Cathy) Oak Hill, Mike Shanks (Theresa) Ohio and his sister Sandy Calco, Ohio. Ron recently enjoyed a weekend visit at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, with his granddaughters’ Brianna and Sierra Jarvis (Ohio). A Memorial Service will be held on December 26, 2009 at Lohman’s Funeral Home, Ormond Beach. The family will receive guests at 4 pm, with the service beginning at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to one of Ron’s favorite charity walks, the Rayz Awareness, Bill Walter III Melanoma Research Fund, mail checks to 11 Jefferson Landing, Daytona Beach, Fl, 32118.
