Ruby Howes, 91, of Ormond Beach, passed away on Sunday, December 27th, 2009. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 30th, at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W. Granada Blvd. The family will receive guests from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m. Mrs. Howes was born May 17th, 1918 in Pontiac, Michigan to George and Gertrude Elkins. Mrs. Howes graduated from Pontiac (Michigan) High School. She and her late husband, Wesley, moved to the area in 1968 from Chelsea, Michigan. She worked at Halifax Medical Center from 1968-1978 as Supervisor of Human Resources. Mrs. Howes was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Daytona Beach. Survivors include her daughter Becky Hudson, grandson Sean Murray and son-in-law Kevin H. Hudson, all of Ormond Beach, Florida; sister Laura Harman and nephew Joe Harman, both of Auburn Hills, Michigan. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, Florida 32129.
