Gladys Ethyl Matzelle (Peg), 85, passed away on February 4, 2010 at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. She was born February 24, 1924 in London, England. In 1945, she married her late husband Edward while he was serving in the armed forces in England. They later moved to Joliet, Illinois where Peg became a citizen of the United States on February 27, 1950. Upon retiring as a sales consultant for JC Penney, Peg and Ed relocated to Florida. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, was a member of the British Club, and did volunteer work for various charities, most recently hospice. She had many friends and great neighbors who will all miss her dearly. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Reggie Morgan and wife, Joyce; nephew Terry Morgan and wife Glo; niece Lesley Nettleship and husband Paul, all of England; niece Betty Fuse and husband Joseph and niece Pamela Pavlich and husband Frank, all of Port Orange, and niece Sharon McGinty and husband Richard of Dayton, OH. Services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Lohman Funeral Home, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL. A gathering will begin at 1:00pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm. Laura Berg, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate the ceremony.
