U.S. Veteran

Mark F. Pincket, age 60, of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on March 31, 2021.

Mark was born September 20, 1960 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. In 1971, the Pincket family and his Detroit sport fandom relocated to South Florida. The fourth of seven children, he began working at an early age on a golf course with his father. Mark’s early love for golf continued throughout his life; he was a proud scratch golfer at the time of his passing. Mark’s work ethic and patriotism led to him enlisting in the Army at the age of 25. He proudly served his country from 1985-1988. During his service he met his wife of thirty-two years, Christy.

One of Mark’s proudest accomplishments was being a father and self proclaimed ‘Mr. Mom’. Although he never quite grasped how to make a pony tail, his daughter, Kelsey, considered her dad her hero, and even as an adult, she still sees him that way.

In addition to Christy and their daughter Kelsey, Mark’s passing leaves behind his sisters, Geri, Lori, and Patty, his brothers, Matt, Brian, and Steve, his many nieces and nephews and a great niece and great nephews, as well as his son-in-law Chris, and his sixteen year old ‘puppy-for-life’, Pebbles. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles (Chuck) and Margaret Pincket.

Just as he dealt with all experiences in life, Mark managed his last weeks with strength and humor. A tremendous and heartfelt thank you goes to the truly exceptional nurses at the Mayo Clinic Neuro-Intensive Care Unit, in Jacksonville, Florida who provided much more than nursing care for Mark, but accommodated his quips, his desire to re-watch ‘Cool Hand Luke’, and provided a peaceful and compassionate environment during his transition from this life to the next. We wish him peace and happiness on his journey. May we all find solace in the fact that the front lawn of heaven is forever greener.

A visitation for Mark is planned for Monday, April 12, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at Lohman Funeral Home, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida 32114. All are invited to attend. Mark’s service and celebration will follow immediately at 2:00 pm.
