Matt McEnany passed away October 17, 2018, unexpectedly, but peacefully, at his home in Port Orange, FL.

Matt was born June 15, 1955 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Dorrance & Geraldine (Goodman) McEnany. Graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a Business Education degree, he went on to achieve many professional awards throughout his career. He had been a prominent figure in the education field for over 30 years and served on many local boards in the Daytona Beach area. Matt always enjoyed working with people and encouraging individuals to better their educational goals.

Matt was a proud father to his Son, Josh, Step-son, Tim and Daughter, Michaela. He was often seen spending his time with family and with the ones who mattered most in his life. Matt was an avid sports fan who enjoyed reading articles and watching his favorite teams. One of his favorite pastimes was to cheer on the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes with his son, Josh. Matt’s sense of humor shined through with Tim as they loved playing practical jokes on each other. Attending the Annual Sweetheart Ball with his favorite date, Michaela and visits to Daytona Lagoon were among some of his favorite moments in life. Matt enjoyed watching his children grow up and was most happy when he was with them. Above all, Matt was a loving and dedicated Father and Grandfather.

Matt is survived by two brothers, Mike McEnany (Debbie) (Scottsdale, AZ) and Mark McEnany (El Mirage, AZ); Wife, Stephanie McEnany (Elkton, FL); Son, Josh McEnany (Port Orange, FL); Daughter in law, Christine McEnany (Port Orange, FL); Step-son, Tim Confer (Port Orange, FL); Daughter, Michaela McEnany (Elkton, FL); Grandson, Carter McEnany (Port Orange, FL); and soon to be Grandson, Cooper McEnany (Port Orange, FL); Nieces, Kelly McEnany (Ashville, NC) and Shannon Berliner (Dallas, TX).
